Killer Sounds review

Hard-Fi's rise

The British band Hard-Fi became incredibly popular within an incredibly short period of time. They play bright, dynamic and extremely diverse music, which in combination with interesting texts brings amazing results. Hard-Fi combined different genres in their creativity, from punk rock to brit pop, but all the musical experiments proved to be successful for the band. It is notable that Hard-Fi were compared with Happy Mondays, Arctic Monkeys and other groups. Well, they do have something in common, but still, Hard-Fi definitely got their distinctive style. Yes, the young men from the country, where alternative rock and indie-rock are so popular, managed to find their sound. Especially if you pay attention to the texts about love of socially inadaptive people, then the listening to Hard-Fi’s songs will become even more interesting – everything is on the highest level and it is flavoured with huge part of humor. What else can we desire? The creative development of Hard-Fi, maybe. Actually, there are no problems with that at all: Once Upon a Time in the West turned out to be not less rememberable then the debut Stars of CCTV. What surprises will the listeners find on Killer Sounds?

Dance-miscellaneous Killer Sounds

Indie-rock implies the musicians’ full independence and freedom of self-expression. Well, that is exactly about Hard-Fi’s approach to the recording process. Their first album Stars of CCTV became a lucky ticket to the world of big rock. Once Upon a Time in the West just strengthened the band’s position and now it is Killer Sounds’ turn. Listeners had been expecting not less fascinating continuation from Hard-Fi and they certainly got it. Good For Nothing is a loud opening act for the record, and it prepares music lovers for the following melodiousness and drive in an excellent way. The long play’s second track, Fire In The House, absorbed some elements of electronica – isn’t that an ideal composition for the dance floors? However the following songs will not disappoint listeners as well: Bring It On proudly presents an amazing bass part, while melodic funky Stop will be hardly ignored. Energetic Stay Alive will be a welcome guest at dance floors, just like Fire In The House. It seems that rockers were really inspired by the dance spirit so almost the whole long play is highly danceable.

The music of contrast

So, the British’ third long play proved to be successful indeed. They stick to their guns and manage to move forward. Their many sided rock with dance elements sounds fresh and original. Anyways, in spite of all the comparisons with other British bands, Hard-Fi is quite distinctive. With every new album their level of performance skills increases, but what is more important – they do not lose the sincerity, which is so loved by listeners. Thus, for example, Killer Sounds got several new instruments, and some unexpected moves are definitely good surprises – just check out the east motives in Feels Good. Briefly, Hard-Fi is still the same wonderful band that appeared at world stage in 2005, but now the rockers became the way more professional. The main point is that they keep on pleasing listeners with their music, inventiveness and humor.
