All Of Me
Studio Album by Estelle released in 2012All Of Me review
Estelle’s third confident step
Estelle’s professional career began comparatively recently, in 2004. Back then the young performer asserted herself in an incredibly confident and loud way. She released two bright compositions 1980 and Free, which managed to conquer numerous charts. It must be mentioned that Estelle always participates in the creation of her songs. The singer wrote the music and lyrics by herself, and she did not let professional composers and producers take all the control of that important creative process. Of course, the result proved to be quite self-explicatory: the artist performed songs that were really close to her and that could describe her inner world. Well, it goes without saying that such kind of openness had always been much appreciated and respected by listeners. Thereby Estelle’s debut album The 18th Day let her find her deserved place in the sun in the world of rhythm-and-blues, soul and hip-hop. Then Estelle collaborated with Kanye West – the duo issued a song American Boy, which was just impossible to ignore. And again Estelle got the first places in charts and, which is more important, she got the attention of music lovers and experts. There is no doubt that Estelle has her own unique style and manner of performance, and they become more and more distinctive every year. The album Shine appeared in 2008 and it turned out to be a great continuation of The 18th Day, and now it is time for the new long play to conquer the charts. Meet Estelle’s brand new studio attempt - All Of Me!
Deep sound of All Of Me
Estelle presented to the listeners nothing less than fifteen amazing tracks, including the full-size compositions and atmospheric transfers from one song to another and various skits. The long play is opened by the track called The Life, which will warm up the audio system in a proper way – the main melody is basically backed by the powerful bass. It is followed by a song with an impressive energy titled International (Serious), which was recorded with Chris Brown and Trey Songz. After two strong songs Estelle makes a little pause in the album, and it was filled with the first atmospheric skit You And I. And do not let the first compositions confuse you, because the artist loves various genres, not only hip-hop. Wonderful composition Love The Way We Used To proves it perfectly: the singer’s vocals is the very basis of that song. It is the voice that plays the main role here, and it feels that the arrangement was created just to fit the curves of Estelle’s part. As the result, the musician got a great and a little bit old fashioned song. The long play’s final chord is taken by a bright dance act Do My Thang – a major and vivacious track with a nice combination of recitatives and singing.
Kaleidoscope of genres
Well, All Of Me, in spite of its continuity and really smart arrangement, proves to bring us an outstanding musical cocktail. The long play included hip-hop, soul, rhythm-and-blues and a little bit of pop-music. That means that it will be quite easy to choose the music for a certain mood. All Of Me has got thoughtful songs, such as Wonderful Life and some vivid dance tracks: Back To Love is one of them. Thereby Estelle’s third studio attempt satisfied all the expectations of her fans. The artist remained faithful to her style and kept on writing bright, light and optimistic music. The main theme of her creativity has always been feelings and romance in general, and the situation seems to stay the same. Facing the spring these topics are very essential indeed. The winter is over now, so it is the high time for the sun and snowbreaks, and we should choose the right soundtrack for that time. All Of Me is an excellent variant, actually. Estelle’s confident performance and melodies to remember may become an appropriate musical score for the change of seasons and the long play can actually help to overcome a possible spring depression and lack of energy.
