Eros Ramazzotti
Biography
Eros Ramazzotti was born into a family of housepainter in Cinecitta, the suburb of Italian capital. In childhood, he dreamt of becoming a pop singer. He wrote songs with the help from his father. Being a teenager Eros tried to enter a musical conservatory, but failed the entrance examination. However, the young man had to help his family and finished a course of bookkeeping. Of cause, he did not manage to work as a bookkeeper for a long time as music was all the guy could think about. In 1981, Eros took part in a musical contest of young talents Voci Nuove di Castrocaro with his own song Rock 80. Ramazzotti became the finalist and received a contract with a new recording label called DDD. He moved to Milan with his relatives and for the initial period had to live in the same building, where the studio was placed. Eros recorded his first single Ad Un Amico in 1982, but the song was not a success. In 1984, he took part in a competition again - this time it was a popular musical show San Remo Festival. The artist became the winner in the category Newcomer. This victory gave a good push to his career.
In 1985, Ramazzotti released his debut attempt Cuori Agitati and took part in San Remo Festival with a ballad Una Storia Importante from this album. The song made him popular all around Europe. The second disc Nuovi Eroi was ready in 1986. The song called Adesso Tu from the same disc brought one more victory to Ramazzotti at San Remo. The popularity continued to grow and in 1987 the artist established the success with the third album In Certi Momenti, followed by a nine-month support tour. The melodic ballads with autobiographical lyrics and pleasant rock tunes made him famous not only in Europe, but also in many Spanish-speaking countries. The fifth studio creation entitled In Ogni Senso attracted a lot of attention in 1990. The famous American producer Clive Davis was so deeply impressed by Eros' talent that offered him to arrange a concert at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. The show was sold-out, and Ramazzotti turned to be the first Italian artist to perform in this monumental building after its reconstruction.
In 1991, a long concert tour resulted in a brilliant double album Eros In Concerts. 1994 became an extremely significant year for Ramazzotti as the work Tutte Storie, which was recorded in 1993 and became 6 times platinum, brought him the contract with a major label BMG International and wide international fame. In the summer of 1995 Eros already performed at the same stage with such big names as Elton John, Joe Cocker and Rod Stewart. Next year Eros released the album Dove C'e Musica, which was the first edition he produced completely by himself. The same year artist's ex-wife Michelle Hunziker, Swiss model and television host, gave birth to their daughter Aurora Sophie. After a compilation album Eros - Greatest Hits in 1997 Ramazzotti made a pause in singing career, though worked hard as a producer. In 2000, he returned with Stile Libero, containing a wonderful duet with Cher in Piu Che Puoi. The Stile Libero support tour included two concerts at Moscow Kremlin. In November 2005, Eros released his tenth work called Calma Apparente, featuring a hit single I Belong To You, in which Eros sang in duet with Anastacia. The artist issued a double compilation E2 in 2007. The work has 17 reworked hits and 4 new songs, one of which - Non Siamo Soli - is a fiery duet with Latin pop star Ricky Martin. In 2009, Eros delivered to the stores his subsequent album with new studio material. Called Ali E Radici, this record featured the songs that were made by the singer in his traditional manner, so widely loved by the millions of listeners.
