The tiresome expectation of Brian Adams' new work

Brian Adams, the Canadian singer, songwriter and also a talented photographer, who presented the world with such hits as (Everything I Do) I Do It For You from his 1991's album Waking Up The Neighbours and Please Forgive Me (from 1993's So Far So Good) is one of the most favorite singer of the whole world and a legendary figure of the world rock scene. The singer has been pleasing the fans with new albums regularly for almost thirty years now, and only the last six years have become the longest hiatus which he in fact has filled with two discs of compilation Anthology. Finally this spring the tiresome expectation is finished for Brian Adams releases a collection of absolutely new songs titled 11: the work has become the eleventh full-length studio album, and this as the artist states himself it is the only reason of such a name. The bulk of 11 consists of the singer's classical rock songs with memorable choruses and although the work does not outshine Brian Adams' best albums it will quickly find itself among the year's best rock records.

Powerful choruses and great drums on 11

The leading formula on the album has become the one the singer has been sticking to for so many years, i.e. a quiet beginning growing into a powerful chorus and the song's continuation in the given tempo. The album opens with a typical representative of the kind, track Tonight We Have The Stars pleasing both with great drums and Adams' vocals, and single I Thought I'd Seen Everything is a beautiful rock composition with powerful drums and an accent again on chorus. The singer reminds us how important it is to fight for love on composition I Ain't Losin' The Fight and the record’s most contagious track is Oxygen pleasing with the catchy melody and amazing guitars. The song whose name associates with U2's famous song, We Found What We Were Looking For is the first slow ballad on the album not less romantic and touching than Brian's hits, and immediately after it goes another one, again with a name reminiscent of another song, Broken Wings, refined with an wonderful piano and brighter back vocals. Composition Mysterious Ways is different with the cello on the accompaniment that brings the flavor of depth and soulfulness, while song Flower Grown Wild is close to folk rock its lyrics being based on a story of a romantic teenager. The album closes with another original ballad Walk On By with an acoustic guitar and Adam's splendid vocals.

Lyrics generous with metaphors and contagious tunes

An artist of Brian Adams' level can allow himself to relax a bit on his eleventh album – without too much effort the singer has recorded songs utterly meeting his fans' expectations and both on audio format and on live performance they will produce a great impression. Melodious ballads in his inimitable style still touch the heart strings and make one feel romantic and faster songs please with the lyrics generous with metaphors and contagious tunes. Naturally for some it may not seem quite enough for it has passed quite some time since he has performed his most popular ballads and today a listener is starving for new hits and new experiences. As Adams' vocals do not undergo much change as time passes, and he is 48 already, it is worth while hoping that he will soon present us with songs that will again become a part of the history and for now let us content with a simply well done quality record 11 that is completely in the singer's style.
