Biography
American rock-band The Black Crowes was formed in the late eighties in Atlanta. Right after the release of their very first album the rockers managed to impress the critics and musical journalists so much that The Black Crowes were entitled “The Most Rock 'n' Roll Rock 'n' Roll Band”. TV channel VH1 placed the group at the 92th place in the list of 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, which proves perfectly the incredible talent and skills of The Black Crowes musicians.
In 1990 the debut album Shake Your Money Maker was released, and the numerous critics acclaimed that record. The listeners enjoyed that work as well and soon Shake Your Money Maker was certified Multiplatinum. Moreover, the composition She Talks To Angels peaked at the first place of Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and that was the great beginning of the professional musical career. In 1992 the rockers issued their second studio attempt titled The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion, which debuted at the first place in Billboard 200 – there is no doubt that the band’s fans were waiting for that record. The Black Crowes’ third album Amorica was released in 1994 and it was enjoyed by the listeners: Amorica was created in the best traditions of The Black Crowes.
The fourth studio work Three Snakes & One Charm was issued in 1996 and after its release the musicians took part in the famous Furthur Festival. The band’s discography was enlarged by the album By Your Side in 1999, which included the famous song Kickin' My Heart Around. Soon after that the legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page offered The Black Crowes to work together, and their collaboration turned out to be very interesting and successful. They played Led Zeppelin’s songs and various blues compositions. As the result, the live album Live At The Greek was released in 2000. The band’s sixth studio album Lions (2001) could not repeat the success of their first works, and in 2002 The Black Crowes announced about the disbandment.
In 2005 The Black Crowes pleased their fans by reuniting and continuing the concert activity. By 2008 the musicians already had the new material, which was presented in the new album Warpaint (2008). The long-awaited record was critically acclaimed, and the listeners enjoyed it very much as well. In 2009 the album Before The Frost...Until The Freeze, created in the band’s best traditions, was released. Recognizable and bright compositions plus the signature The Black Crowes sound will be enjoyed both by the rockers’ old fans and by those who are just going to get acquainted with The Black Crowes creativity. In 2010 the extremely strong compilation album Croweology was issued. It included the band’s best songs, created during the whole career, starting from the debut album Shake Your Money Maker.
