Biography
The legendary American punk-rock band Social Distortion was formed in late seventies in Fullerton, California. That group is considered to be one of the brightest representatives of punk scene, and it is hard to argue with that, because during the whole musical career Social Distortion pleased and still please their fans by the sincere creativity.
Thus, Social Distortion’s debut record titled Mommy's Little Monster saw the light in 1983. That work did not prove to be commercially successful; however numerous critics gave it fair reviews. That was the album that included the composition Another State Of Mind, which became one of the band’s most recognizable songs. In 1985 the rockers had to pause their creativity because of Mike’s problems with drugs and law. Nevertheless, in 1986 Social Distortion were on-stream again, and two years later they released second long play Prison Bound (1988). That time the musicians added elements of The Rolling Stones rock style and even Johnny Cash’s country. As the result, they got an extremely original sound.
Social Distortion’s discography was enlarged by the first album that was certified Gold in the USA in 1990. The self-titled record Social Distortion turned out to be very strong and it was followed by another rememberable studio attempt Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell (1992). Album of 1996 White Light, White Heat, White Trash demonstrated the band’s resumption to its hard-core punk origins, which made numerous fans really happy. White Light, White Heat, White Trash became the group’s last album, released in twentieth century.
The release of Social Distortion’s sixth album’ titled Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll (2004) took place eight years later. Again the sound was changed, but the signature style was presented in a full volume, and the quartet still can hardly be mixed up with someone else. The rockers needed seven years to prepare and to record the fresh material for the brand-new album. The studio attempt entitled Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes saw the light in 2011 and it was very well received both by the experts and music lovers. Big experience and musical intuition allow Social Distortion creating without any limits. The rockers proved to the whole world that they are able to make extremely strong songs and albums, and Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes is the best proof of that.
