A genuine talent will release a disc in spite of all the troubles

The new disc of the fertile and long-time acknowledged, strongly influential R&B-musician R. Kelly was to be released back in 2008. However, the issue was delayed due to some reasons. Mainly, because of the fact that the record under the working title 12 Play, 4th Quarter was leaked into the internet before the official date of release. The second serious trouble for the album factoring was the typical US lawsuit against the performer for allegedly having sex with the minor. If you count, how many analogical allegations are given to the court each year in the USA for the famous musicians by their fans and not only, you would not see anything unpredictable or shameless in such legal procedures for the stars. Alas, such cases had a negative influence on the singer’s reputation. Nevertheless, all these happenings did not spoil R. Kelly’s good mood for creation of a new long-play, although he had to change the concept drastically. The new version of the album is called Untitled and is now available for our appreciation. As always, the artist collaborated with several R&B-colleagues, but this time the list of guest celebrities was surprisingly short for R. Kelly. We know from his previous releases that many musicians would like to work with him. Well, thanks to such approach, Untitled lets us concentrate all our attention on the singer himself and his talent.

Relationships are still important for R. Kelly

It is the tenth studio work by R. Kelly, on which he stays faithful to himself and sings about the thing that worries him most – the sex. Well, the topic is not fresh at all. However, the artist so fascinated by his deal and performs it with such masterful absence of repetitions that him devotion is worth of any colorful praises we can mouth. The laconic master class about the ways of right living and getting enjoyment R. Kelly titled Like I Do. The charming straightforwardness and lack of complexes will be the main attractions of the composition Bangin' The Headboard. But the most striking element of the singer’s verses is his love of metaphors, which are juicy and not trite. Thus, the first single from the album has the title Number One (Feat. Keri Hilson). In it, the artist compares having sex with the composition of the hits – well, no one can doubt that R. Kelly is a master in both businesses. Nevertheless, the musician does not write only bedroom R&B. The disc is decorated, for example, by the club track I Love The DJ, which has the thick synthesized sound and danceable beat. The number Supaman High (Feat. OJ Da Juiceman) can be called one of the strongest artist’s collaborations, while the album opener Crazy Night (Feat. R. City) can be best described as celebratory and intensely spiced up with auto-tune effects. The disc finishes with the composition Pregnant (Feat. Tyrese, Robin Thicke And The-Dream), in which the singer sings that he loves a girl so much that he wants a baby from her – well, it is natural to remember in his age that sex is created not only for our pleasure, but for something else.

Untitled: faithfulness to the style and fan base

R. Kelly records normally one disc per year, and for the period of his activity he formed a sizeable fan base. The most interesting fact is that he seems to be equally adored by men and women. While men associate R. Kelly with the embodiment of masculine forth and lure, thanks to his songs they learn how to conquer the female hearts, each girl-appreciator sincerely believes that the artist sings personally for her, so penetrating and emotional R. Kelly’s voice is. The new work by the performer is no exception in this matter. He still loves two things most of all in the world: sex and music, or music and sex. And he is faithful to these two interests for more than twenty years of his career, although the debut disc by the musician saw the light only in early 90s. In any case, whoever listens to the musician’s long-plays, including his latest accomplishment Untitled, the person fills the atmosphere with sensitiveness and romance. Besides, the album draws a line in R. Kelly’s life in a way, as it was released after the singer’s divorce to his former wife Andrea Lee. The artist’s heart is free now, and any fan can openly dream of the hot R&B-performer, listening to his new full-length. Besides, R. Kelly broadened his opportunities with the mix collection The Demo Tape (Gangsta Grillz), emerging in a new image for the listeners and thus bringing in something new for them. Saying it last, Untitled definitely overdoes its predecessor in quality, and it reached platinum status without any extraordinary moves from R. Kelly’s side.
