There are some people in the world culture, who can actually change this or that sphere of life for ever. There is no doubt that Michael Jackson was one of such artists. In 2009 the world lost an incredibly talented performer, but – it is a paradox indeed – listeners still get new albums, the covers of which have the name of their favorite singer. Songs that had not been issued before or remixes of various well-known compositions – the albums are always called for. And nobody can blame fans, because they get the music from their idol. While publishers are doing a good thing as well: the great music must become a property of society, right? Thereby the record titled Immortal was released in 2011 and it became the official soundtrack of a new program from the world known circus: Cirque du Soleil. The artists prepared an outstanding show called Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. And of course the music of the king of pop music was chosen for that performance, because it could not be done any other way. The best choreographers took part in its creation; many of them had worked with Michael Jackson. Well, Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour turned out to be really entertaining. It is a pity that the video record is not attached to the official soundtrack.

A collection of hits

The album Immortal became one of those long plays, which include nothing but the time-tested hits. Thus, the record’s opening act is a vivacious composition Workin' Day And Night, with bright funky notes. This one is followed by a very atmospheric and, it probably can be called an epic track The Immortal Intro. Then listeners will feel the strong contrast – after such a serious song they will be given a very tender composition Childhood, devoted to Michael’s childhood, just like it comes from the title. Actually, one has to be prepared to the fact that songs on that album are placed to fit the performance, first of all. That means that there will be a lot of contrasts and quite sharp transitions – the show’s composition needs that. On the other hand, Immortal is not just another compilation album, this is the sound and atmosphere of the whole performance. Such kind of albums are not a common thing, that is why it will be extremely interesting to get acquainted with that off standard long play. And is it necessary to list all the hits, which were included into that record? Thriller, Planet Earth/Earth Song, Smooth Criminal, Ben and many others will please Michael’s old fans and all the lovers of high quality pop-music.

Immortal is a perfect title

Listeners probably should not try to find any logic or regulating on that studio work. Well, this is not even a compilation of the best songs or not a compilation of previously unreleased compositions – this is real background music for the circus performance. That is definitely a very rare work and - it must be mentioned – it is atmospheric and unique. By the way, it may be taken as an invitation to the world of fantasy. Those people, who had never been at Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, can only try to guess, what and how is going on on the stage. While those lucky ones, who managed to get to the show of famous artists, will especially appreciate Immortal, because it will help them to recover the atmosphere of the show easily. However the songs, which were included into Immortal were not taken from some archives. Kevin Antunes, the famous producer, who worked with such stars of modernity as Justin Timberlake and Rihanna, spent a whole year in the studio, busy working on the remastering of compositions of king of pop music. It is clear that it is difficult to try improving already good songs, but it seems that he somehow succeeded.
