Stronger (Deluxe Version)
Studio Album by Kelly Clarkson released in 2011Stronger (Deluxe Version) review
Kelly Clarkson in the world of music
Kelly Clarkson, born and raised in Texas, got the well deserved popularity and acknowledgment after winning the famous talent show called American Idol in 2002. Once, music became a sort of redemption for Kelly: her parents divorced, and creativity helped young Clarkson to get through the rough times. Later the music turned out to be not just a favorite thing for the singer, but the real life style. Thus, Kelly decided to try her luck at the national talent competition: she successfully passed the casting and appeared to be among the best participants of the project. The performer’s talent and desire to work hard played their role, and Clarkson won the first prize. Of course, that victory proved to be an extremely important stage in the promising singer’s life, as soon as she attracted attention of both record labels and millions of listeners, and, which is more important, she acquired the priceless confidence in her own strength. The beginning of Kelly’s career was definitely a confident one: her debut studio work Thankful saw the light in 2003 and pretty soon it peaked at the top of Billboard 200, which is a great proof of music lovers’ interest to the artist’s creativity. A year later Clarkson proved to everybody that her success was not just a chance: Breakaway (2004) turned out to be a great logical continuation and development of Thankful. Thereby the young singer established an outstanding reputation, so the release of her new album Stronger just could not be ignored.
Stronger is an appropriate title
The long play became the fifth one in Clarkson’s discography, and that means that the singer already has certain experience of studio work and recording process. Moreover, Kelly had quite a big number of songs, so she could choose only the best ones for her upcoming album. Thereby the conceptual Stronger will present for music lovers those tacks, united by the main general idea. Theme of self-improvement is one of the basic aspects of the record, and Stronger seems to be a perfect title, after all. The very first composition called Mr. Know It All may be known by many people, because it has already been issued as a single. That bright and clear song somehow creates a great mood, which lasts for the whole album. Mr. Know It All is followed by What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) that proudly presents an elaborated sound, which definitely acquired some elements of dance music. In general the whole record proved to be positive and life-asserting. Make sure to pay attention to the lyrics, because Stronger is called a conceptual record for a reason – themes of going through hard and rough times probably will be familiar for many listeners. Deluxe version of Stronger includes four additional songs, and they are just as interesting as the basic compilation songs.
Confident onward movement
So, Kelly’s fifth studio attempt appeared to be traditionally strong and fascinating. Many experts had called that album one of the most expected releases of the fall long before it was released. Clarkson’s creativity certainly deserves attention and every new long play brings Kelly new fans. Actually, that is not a surprise at all, because Clarkson’s intuition never fails her, while the performer’s distinctive vocals could be hardly mixed up with someone else’s. Even in spite of the fact that pop-scene had always had a big number of representatives, Kelly managed to find her place in the sun and to create the unique style and manner of singing. Stronger turned out to be one of the artist's best creations so far, but it seems that Kelly still has not demonstrated all her possibilities and potential. Well, her following albums will have all chances to improve this situation.
