Believe
Studio Album by Justin Bieber released in 2012Believe review
Justin Bieber and his promising career
Interesting, how many young and gifted kids, who downloaded their videos to Youtube, get lucky? How many of them managed to achieve something really big? Or achieve anything at all? Well, these numbers will remain unknown, however we definitely do know that Justin Bieber is one of those lucky ones who found his chance and who was noticed. Listeners should be grateful to Scooter Braun, who was watching videos on Youtube and discovered several clips by Bieber. Braun immediately understood that the young man had a great potential, which was about to fulfill. Thereby pretty soon Scooter became Justin’s manager, and then the professional work began. Serious equipment, serious studios – all that came to Justin. The release of the first part of Bieber’s debut album titled My World took place back in 2009. It proved to be a truly amazing breakthrough for the young musician and it brought him fame and recognition. He was especially acknowledged by young girls, which is actually rather logical and can be easily explained. Nevertheless, one should not underestimate creativity of that Canadian kid. Bieber has been considered to be among the most called-for performers on the world stage, and it is really difficult to get there. Well, how is Justin’s creativity changing and what shall we expect from his brand new long play? Believe will help to figure everything out.
Believe: new sound, new ideas
Obviously it seems that Justin Bieber’s third studio attempt has got all chances to become a new starting point in the musician’s career. The point is that this album presents quite a distinctive transition from lighter pop-music to the vast field of dance genres and rhythm and blues. However Justin’s voice remains on the first place, not the arrangements. The vocal, by the way, is getting stronger, it is impossible not to notice it, and it deals with both experience gaining and the artist’s trivial growing up. The long play is opened by a highly energetic composition called All Around the World that lets us know that Believe is to demonstrate a totally renewed (for many people completely surprising) sound. Then goes a mid-tempo track Boyfriend, created in a contemporary rhythm and blues style. By the way, the lyrics of Believe is worth paying attention, that is for sure, as soon as not only a musical essence had been changed: texts turned into something new as well. Metamorphosis is a state of everything on Believe. Thereby the song Right Here, which had been recorded alongside another Canadian performer Drake, proved to be a great example of what Bieber wants to achieve these days: more serious sound that got the way more of sensuality and more thoughtful lyrics. Connoisseurs of acoustic sound will enjoy a number titled Be Alright. There Justin’s voice is accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, and definitely that song will remain listeners of Bieber’s career’s start, when he performed compositions with the simplest accompaniments.
Time to grow up, time to move on
Well, Bieber’s discography was enlarged by a third studio attempt. The third record in three years is a truly impressive result, especially considering the fact that Justin’s creation can be hardly called average ones or albums that were done in a quick way. A young performer began with light and relatively simple songs that were gradually turning into the best examples of modern pop-music. Hits from My World and Under The Mistletoe flew over the globe and brought Justin a well-deserved fame and recognition. Nowadays attention of Bieber’s numerous fans is concentrated on his brand new creation Believe. The musician is growing up, and at the same time his creativity gets more serious and elaborated. His new album demonstrated a great transition to the dance music with elements of rhythm and blues, that is why it is quite possible that in a nearest future Justin’s songs will be ringing in all night clubs. However, the artist managed to find a compromise between pop-music and rhythm and blues, which lets him combine his favorite genres. All in all Believe will not disappoint listeners, there is no doubt about it.
