Joshua Radin is faithful to his style

When the future performer was just a little boy, he had a dream of becoming a painter. However, as it often happens, it is the time that places everything on the right spots without asking people’s opinions. Thus, Joshua Radin wanted to become a painter, but with time his priorities were changed. That transformation took place due to the music of such artists as Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Paul Simon and many others. Their creativity inspired Joshua to buy a guitar and to start exploring the world of music. Joshua managed to treat the guitar really well, which let him consider the opportunity to try his strength on the stage. The young and promising artist moved to New York, where his professional career got off. There one of Joshua’s friends insisted that Radin should go to the studio and make a record of a song called Winter. Soon it was discovered by the famous actor Zach Braff, who was starring in Srubs at that time. Thereby Winter was included into the official soundtrack for that show, but in fact many of Joshua’s compositions were taken to the television. Radin’s debut studio long play titled We Were Here saw the light in 2006 and it was well received by listeners. Distinctive soft and warm sound had become the singer’s easy recognizable feature, and with every year Joshua’s fan base kept on growing. The artist pleased them with a brand new, fourth studio attempt titled Underwater in 2012.

Traditions of acoustic music on Underwater

Joshua Radin has been holding tight his acoustic guitar for several years, and that fact can be nothing but a pure joy, as soon as the singer’s voice sounds incredibly well in a duo with that instrument. The title song of the album Underwater stands for an excellent example of how a ballad in folk-rock or soft-rock may sound like. In fact it seems that in such songs coziness and warmth are hidden somewhere between notes. Well, that kind of music can comfort people during long winter evenings and remind of bright sunny days. The Greenest Grass or Everything are songs full of sunlight, just like all the creations of Joshua. By the way, bonus tracks are worth attention as well. Judge by yourself, but these very bonuses include such hits as rather slow So Long Sunshine or vivid She's So Right. All in all these are a great addition to main compositions.

Nobody and nothing can separate Joshua Radin and his guitar. The artist has been creating amazing songs for several years, and actually he never tried to bother himself with elaborated stylistic peculiarities. Everything is rather simple: acoustic sound, light arrangements and, of course, traditionally sensitive vocals. You will want to listen to the artist, indeed. His voice sounds great and the songs’ texts are truly interesting. It turns out that Radin has got enough experiences and emotions to share with listeners, and the artist enjoys this sharing. It does not matter if it is sorrow or joyfulness – do not question the authenticity of feelings, they are real. In fact, that is why Joshua’s music is so much loved. It is simple (in a good way) and sincere. It does not need elaborated digital processing and thousands of effects. Everything is recorded in the way it used to be – a studio, couple of microphones and the final mastering. All that works just fine, but the artist’s newest creation Underwater will let everyone make sure of it once again. That long play will definitely become a treasure for connoisseurs of authentic lyric rock. Well, Radin remains faithful to his own unique style, while his fans, in their turn, remain faithful to their idol.
