Hot Chip
Biography
The Hot Chip band was formed by long-time friends Alexis Taylor (vocals, keyboards, percussions, piano and guitar) and Joe Goddard (vocals, synthesizer, percussions) in 2000, in the British capital. Later they were joined by the latter participants - Owen Clarke (guitar, synthesizer), Felix Martin (drum machine) and Al Doyle (guitar, synthesizer, percussions). Al Doyle is a member of LCD Soundsystem at the same time. LCD Soundsystem is a musical project of James Murphy, co-founder of the DFA Records, where Hot Chip recorded their album The Warning. In 2000 the band announced their presence on the scene with the EP entitled Mexico. The disc caught the public's attention with the mesmerizing beats and an amusing work of both vocalists. The second EP was called Sanfrandisco E-Pee and managed to be less dark and more danceable than the previous work Mexico.
In 2004, Hot Chip recoded their debut full-length Coming On Strong. In 2006, the band released their sophomore studio album The Warning, which generated two major hits - Over And Over and And I Was A Boy From School. The material on the work was a mixture of dance, electronica and a number of other musical styles. The Warning was a real hit in the United Kingdom. In 2007, Hot Chip collaborated with DJ Kicks over the dance compositions compilation DJ-Kicks: Hot Chip, which featured their new track My Piano. In February 2008, Hot Chip released their third full-length Made In The Dark, which was presented with the first single Ready For The Floor.
The members of Hot Chip are also known not only for their records, but also for the live performances. At every concert they present the listeners with a new arrangement of every album composition – that is why their every gig without any exaggeration can be called a unique event. They are constant guests at the electronic music festivals, including Dour Festival, Glastonbury, Sonar, Benicassim, Lovebox and Electric Picnic. Moreover, each of Hot Chip members is known to be an excellent DJ. On December 29, 2007, all the five Hot Chip participants took part in a live DJ set in the radio program The Essential Mix with Pete Tong. The show was translated with the British wave BBC Radio One. In 2008, Hot Chip issued the album called Made In The Dark. In 2008, Hot Chip prepared their subsequent studio attempt called Made In The Dark. This was a nicely elaborated record without flaws featuring many more vocal parts than the previous works by the Londoners. In 2010 Hot Chip made their fans happy by releasing the new album titled One Life Stand. В 2010 году коллектив порадовал поклонников своей новой студийной работой, получившей название One Life Stand.
