Get Cape Wear Cape Fly's music wants more and more listening

When two years ago English twenty-two year old singer and songwriter Sam Duckworth performing with the pseudonym Get Cape Wear Cape Fly released his debut album The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager critics appreciated his work a lot. The thoughts too mature for his age and a powerful recognizable voice proved to be an especially pleasant surprise but the material was rather raw in the respect of arrangements. This year the artist has righted himself fully recording a new work that got named Searching For The Hows And Whys with the support of producer Nitin Sawhney. Most of the new album is a mixture of indie, folk and pop music and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly's vocals sounds newly impressive due to the successful production. The lyrics on the new record again amaze with the deep thoughts on the world problems, such as not too pleasant perspectives of the humanity, consumerism and religious fundamentalism. Kate Nash appears on one song which is a nice surprise, and on the whole the album pleases with great music wants more and more listening.

A voice stronger than the instrumental variety on Searching For The Hows And Whys

One of the album's most beautiful songs Postcards From Catalunya again full of ideas about life is performed with a light guitar accompaniment with an unobtrusive violin and the concentration of the singer's concern about world's consumerism is on track The Children Are (The Consumers Of) The Future. Ballad I Could Build You A Tower is remarkable for an unusual tune with the elements of oriental music and more rhythmic composition Keep Singing It could well be a danceable one if it were not for the serious questions put in it. Once guitar runs into Sam's beautiful voice on Find The Time, which little by little turns into an impetuous song with the singer ensuring us that all is in our hands, we only should find the time. Kate Nash joins the performer on a short and worrisome track Better Things adding even more emotions and the closer is a sad but hopeful anthem Could've Seen It All inspiring and calling for action.

The singer behind the mysterious name Get Cape Wear Cape Fly is known for his stubborn character and is actively involved in the struggle against racism, remaining at the same time an interesting and joyful person. The pseudonym has an interesting origin. Once Sam came across an article about the Batman computer game, and one of the headlines read 'Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly', which was a kind of humorous instruction how to become Batman. Although a little bit strange for a pseudonym it contains a huge portion of irony that is characteristic of the artist's songs. Yet in order to understand completely the whole spectrum of this unique personality's views and interests it is worth while listening to both of his creations. The main peculiarity of Searching For The Hows And Whys is a harmonious combination of a quality music consisting of numerous components and the lyrics that can be cited alone and impression produced will not prove less powerful.
