Foals
Biography
English rock band Foals was formed in Cambridge in 2005. The musicians created their own material pretty quickly and began playing first gigs. As a rule, such shows were held during different parties, and the stage was simply absent. Foals just brought their equipment, tuned and rocked. They did it so well and stirringly that their performances were not ignored at all.
The band’s first single Try This On Your Piano / Look At My Furrows Of Worry was issued in 2006 and it attracted the music lovers’ attention in no time, which is very logical: Foals presented an incredibly powerful musical cocktail, including elements of indie-rock, dance-punk, post-punk and even techno. Thus, by mixing different genres, Foals managed to create their unique style and signature sound. In 2007 the band began preparing the material for their debut album, which was released in 2008. The record titled Antidotes debuted in a very confident way in British Albums Chart, and that fact proves the highest level of rockers’ first studio attempt. Antidotes got excellent reviews from the critics and pleased numerous listeners, who enjoyed its original sound and atmosphere.
The band’s second long play titled Total Life Forever was released in 2010. After such a bright debut, everyone had been expecting the following work to be as good as Antidotes. When Total Life Forever was finally released, listener’s expectations were completely satisfied: Foals presented the amazing atmosphere, which was based on the signature sound. The band’s potential was totally realized and it is quite possible to note that Total Life Forever is a logical development of Antidotes. There is absolutely no doubt that both albums are great and interesting, and it depends on you, which one will be chosen to help you to get acquainted with Foals’ creativity.
