On the title track opening the album Ciara is claiming her returning to the older sounding, to bold self-asserting in lyrics which was almost gone on the sensual record Fantasy Ride. The track is filled with self-respect that sounds in the heavy arrangement and the tough rapping contrasting with her sensual vocals. The singer herself, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart are the executive producers on Basic Instinct, but there are some interesting exceptions, for example, the danceable single Gimmie Dat produced by Soundz, with an amazing pulsating beat and Ciara’s provocative singing. One can value the singer’s vocal skills on a melodious composition Wants For Dinner, a delicious combination of reggae and R&B, while the pop melody and electronic beat are united on a great danceable number Heavy Rotation which will surely become a club hit.
