Biography

Electro duo Chase & Status was formed at the beginning of the twenty first century in the capital of the United Kingdom. Saul and Will understood perfectly what the electronic music was about and how it was going to develop. Since 2004 Chase & Status worked as the producers, and in 2005 their mix was recognized as one of the brightest compositions of DnB Arene. In such a manner the musicians switched to the creation of their own material, and time showed that their decision was right and successful indeed.

Chase & Status’ first EP titled Ten Tonne EP (2005) saw the light in 2005. It was followed by another EP The Druids EP in 2006 and the duo’s work immediately attracted the music lovers attention. Incredibly energetic live performances also helped to gain a huge fan base. At the same time the incredible energy is well presented on the band’s studio attempts, and one can make sure of it by simply listening to one of the duo’s long plays. Chase & Status’ Debut album More Than Alot was released in 2008. That studio attempt made a way to the second line of British dance chart UK Dance Album Chart in a very confident way, which proved both the extremely high level of presented material and the listeners’ interest to the band’s creativity. One of the compositions, Take Me Away, became a real hit in night clubs of the UK in 2008, while another song, Eastern Jam, was mixed and got an absolutely new sound due to collaboration with famous rapper Snoop Dogg in 2009.

Chase & Status’ second studio long play titled No More Idols appeared in 2011. Traditionally strong album pleased listeners both by the excellent sound and by various vocals: such musicians as Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal, Clare Maguire, Plan B and many others took part in No More Idols recording process. Critics compared that album with works of respected masters of electronic music, such as Pendulum and The Prodigy, and there is no doubt that analogies with these bands’ music should be considered as compliments. Nevertheless, Chase & Status’ creativity can be hardly mixed up with someone else’s, since the duo found their own signature style that is so much loved by the music lovers. If you are just going to get acquainted with this young British band’s art, you can easily choose any of their works – energy and sincerity are truly impressive, while the quality of the material is simply unquestionable, because Chase & Status established a reputation of extremely talented musicians.
