Studio Album by Aerosmith released in 2012Music From Another Dimension! review
11 long years
Smits existed since 1970, and for these 40 years of life they have been through all sorts of obstacles. Had their own ups and downs. Speaking about the achievements of the group, well, having this much time, Aerosmith broke all possible records with this impressive number of gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums. At the moment the guys are the first among the American's group according to the number of sold and this highly praised albums. The group has four Grammys and even the most devoted fan will not be able to give the number of songs that once conquered world charts. Albums such as Rocks, Toys In The Attic made history according to Rolling Stone magazine and are in the list of best albums of all time, and the Smits themselves, according to the same magazine, are in the list of 100 greatest artists of all time. Yes, Aerosmith is classics, and being a great role model, group had a strong impact not only on modern bands and musicians, but also on the development of different music styles. Selected their basic direction as rock, Smits tried themselves in hard rock, heavy metal, even pop, glam and blues, but in each of them they brought their unique spirit. In 2001 Smits were in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and released their last full-scale album Just Push Play. In 2004, they adopted an attempt to return with the album Honkin 'on Bobo, but it was the album of covers and one original song The Grind. It is not for the group of this level. Therefore, everybody was waiting for original album of full value. In 2012, we got it. Meet the album Music From Another Dimension!
The theory of parallel universes and Music From Another Dimension
The beginning of new album opens with track «LUV XXX». This song is an original, powerful and atmospheric introduction to the album, which after some time passes into the typical sound of the group. We hear far back beloved guitar chords, and somewhere deep inside of us joy is awakened that Aerosmith is still the same. That all these guys from Boston are still quick-moving, full of energy and ready to rock. This idea reinforces with the next track on the album Oh Yeah!, which judging by its intensity and sound brings us back to the 80s. Hard, aggressive with branded Tyler's vocals, this track makes us forgive the group for these 11 years of silence and for covers on Honkin 'on Bobo. Without dwelling much on hard music – Aerosmith is a many-faceted band, you know, which is not only ready to rock, but for the sake of a woman's heart can sing something sentimental. It is the attitude with which the album brings us to the fourth song Tell Me. This is a great acoustic ballad, which in addition to a magnificent melody and rhythm, for 3 minutes and 45 seconds takes us to the days when the grass was greener, the sky bluer, and people were able to love truly. Next album meets us with the blues-rock sound, and here is the reign of songs like Closer, Out Go the Lights. Average in sound hardiness and easy to understand these tracks are the best complement to the atmosphere created by the previous tracks. Approaching the end the lyrical theme is again revived by such songs like We All Fall Down and Another Last Goodbye, songs that are meaningful and atmospheric finish of this creation from another time and dimension.
Living Classics: Aerosmith
It is nice to know that the group that has already created and confirmed its name still continues to create, give concerts, and writing albums. And we still have the opportunity to enjoy it all. The old Smits once again rocked, yes, perhaps, the album is not as strong as the Rocks and Toys In The Attic, but it is a full-scale, atmospheric music, with this typical Aerosmith's character and emotions. The band again presented a selection of high-quality rock music for all the time, for all ages and for everybody’s mood. Ballads flow very accurately and melodic into blues-rock songs, which is then followed by aggressively progressive tracks. One can definitely put this album into the collection to other fourteen albums of this group. Aerosmith has once again proved that the time has no power over the classics. That they can get together after three years or eleven years and be back with quality material and show everybody the real rock and roll. In fact, it is hard...definitely hard to present something that would repeat the old days especially after the shattering public success. But it seems too early to retire Aerosmith. They are full of energy, which can add more hits in their already rich musical money-box. It may well be that in a year or two we will see the album with number sixteen, or seventeen, and it's close to the twentieth. And while there is an opportunity and a desire to create, may there always be Aerosmith, may there always be rock and roll!
