Biography

The legendary rock band Heart was formed in early seventies of the twentieth century. The line-up was changed several times, and the constant members are sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. Heart can be easily called the American-Canadian band, because the bigger part of its musicians is from Seattle; however about a year after the group’s formation, the rockers moved to Vancouver and recorded their debut album there.

Heart’s first studio attempt titled Dreamboat Annie was issued in 1976. That record turned out to be so good that it attracted numerous music lovers’ attention in no time and later Dreamboat Annie was certified Platinum in the US and Double Platinum in Canada. The second album Little Queen was released in 1977 and it proved to be even more successful that its predecessor: in the US Little Queen got the Triple Platinum Status. That long play included the famous composition Barracuda, which became one of the most recognizable songs created by the band. Thereby, Heart began their musical career in an incredibly confident way and managed to gain the really impressive fan base.

Heart kept on pleasing their listeners with such strong albums as Magazine (1978), Dog And Butterfly (1978), Bebe Le Strange (1980) and many others. Studio works Private Audition (1982) and Passionworks (1983) were not very successful from the financial point of view; however the self-titled long play Heart (1985) improved the situation. It debuted at the top of Billboard 200 chart and was certified Fivefold Platinum if the USA and Sixfold Platinum in Canada. That success proved the highest level of the musicians’ skills and the fans’ interest in the band’s creativity.

In spite of the long and fruitful career, the members of Heart still have lots of fresh ideas, and the rockers realize them perfectly in new studio attempts. Thus, the twelfth long play Jupiters Darling was released in 2004 and it was created in the band’s best traditions: that is why it was not a surprise that Jupiters Darling got excellent reviews from the critics. The long-awaited album Red Velvet Car saw the light in 2010 and it debuted at the third place on the US Rock Albums Chart, and its singles WTF and Hey You found their well-deserved places in various radio stations’ air. There is absolutely no doubt that the legendary band’s new creations will be interesting for all the good and sincere music lovers.
