Vampire Weekend will record "tropical" album

Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio revealed that the band has already started the work on its next studio effort. Baio claimed that they have many new songs done, adding that this tracks feature "upbeat, tropical sound".

"With this release, there is an upbeat, maybe even tropical sound to it, but at the same time there's a little bit of melancholy and sombreness to all of the tracks. That's something that I'm drawn to. I like the idea of music that hold two somewhat opposing emotions at the same time", claimed he.

Vampire Weekend released their last studio effort Contra in 2010.
