Universal Music has won a lawsuit against Eminem’s former label
Mar 03, 2009Universal Music has proved in court that it does not own money to Eminem and his former publishing company FBT Productions. FBT Productions sued Universal last year, saying that music publisher has underpaid Eminen $1.47 million for music downloads of his old songs. 40 percent of this money was set to go to FBT Productions.
Jury at California judged in favor of the record label, however, saying that Universal must pay FBT Productions $159,000. Eminem himself previously said that he was not involved in this trial.
Last week rapper announced that his new album Relapse would be released in May. First single from upcoming disk, titled Crack A Bottle, was already released in February. Eminem also promised to release Relapse 2 album until 2009.
