U2 want to become Rock Band characters

U2 claimed that they were going to become the characters of their own episode of the videogame Rock Band. According to the band’s bassist Adam Clayton, they are already in talks with MTV Games and Electronic Arts, the creators of Rock Band: The Beatles.

«We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren't what we wanted. That could change. I love the idea that that's where people are getting music and we'd love to be in that world. We'll figure something out», said he.

Clayton said that at first U2 were against appearing in videogame, but his bandmates changed their minds after seeing Rock Band: The Beatles: «What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn't want to be caricatured».

U2 are currently considering the recording of an album based on upcoming Broadway musical about Spider-Man. U2 have already released new album this year, No Line On The Horizon, and announced next record, Songs Of Ascent.
