The song Boy Falls From The Sky was unveiled in September – it was performed on Good Morning America show by actor Reeve Carney, who is set to portray the main hero.
Speaking about the musical and Reeve Carney, U2 frontman Bono said: "This is like the old man giving the keys to the new convertible to the young kid, and knowing that he would drive it a lot faster than I would but hoping he gets home safe. It's quite a moment".
The band's guitarist The Edge added: "One of the great things about this casting is that we've got Reeve, who's this amazing singer but we've also brought in his band. So we've got the sound of a real authentic rock and roll band performing at the show, which for us being a band, is great".
The musical, named Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, is staged on Broadway. It is set to debut on December 21, with all music and lyrics written by U2's Bono and The Edge.
