Jan 01, 2009
U2 frontman Bono started his own column in New York Times newspaper. The first issue featuring Bono as an author was printed today, on January 11.

U2 singer already said that it was an honour for him, joking that he was not good «with the full stops or commas». New York Times editor Andrew Rosenthal described the singer as «an extraordinary man who thinks deeply about his art and the major issues confronting the world».

Previously, U2 said that their upcoming album No Line On The Horizon was inspired by world events – for example, album track Cedars Of Lebanon will see Bono in the role of a war correspondent.
