Jul 07, 200917,500 free tickets for Michael Jackson’s public memorial service are set to be raffled through the Web. The ceremony itself will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7. It will be visited by Jackson’s family and close friends, such as Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross
The ceremony is also set to be broadcasted at the nearby Nokia Theatre cinema.
Only American citizens are able to apply to attend the event – they need to register on the Staples Center official website. More than half a million people have left their applications during the first 24 hours.
Michael Jackson has died from a heart attack on June 25. The King of Pop was rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles, where team of doctors spent about an hour trying to resuscitate him. However, all attempts were unsuccessful – according to the reports, Jackson already had no pulse when he arrived at the clinic.
