Thom Yorke chose a name for his solo project

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke revealed the title he has chosen for his side project band. According to the singer, it will be named Atoms For Peace. «It has been decided that we call ourselves Atoms For Peace. Hope you like the name… it seemed bleeding obvious», he wrote in his blog.

Thom Yorke also announced that his band would go on a US tour this summer.

Atoms For Peace band features Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea, REM’s Joey Waronker, producer Nigel Godrich and several other musicians – mostly those who are featured on Yorke’s 2006 solo album The Eraser. At its turn, the record includes track titled Atoms For Peace.

Atoms For Peace are rumored to perform at Coachella festival. Besides Thom Yorke’s band, the festival will be headlined by Gorillaz, Jay-Z and Muse.
