Aug 08, 2009
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has claimed that CDs have saved music industry from dying when they first appeared. However, he added that the time of CDs has gone now. «There's a process of natural selection going on right now. The music business was waiting to die in its current form about 20 years ago. But then, hallelujah, the CD turned up and kept it going for a bit. But basically, it was dead», said he.

Thom Yorke added that he has always hated CDs and praised online distribution because it focuses people’s attention on individual songs, and not the whole albums.

Radiohead released their last album In Rainbows through their own website, letting people to order it for whatever price they saw fit.
