This Is It movie to be submitted for Oscar

The documentary movie This Is It, which tells about last days in life of Michael Jackson, will have an opportunity to be among Oscar nominees. Sony Pictures announced that it has decided to submit the movie for the consideration of Academy Award committee.

This Is It will compete in Best Picture category. In order to qualify to preliminary poll the movie must be shown for at least a week in a row in Los Angeles.

The movie was premiered last Wednesday, on October 28, and is set to be screened for two weeks. All in all it was shown in 110 countries all over the world.

This Is It is based on the rehearsal video for Michael Jackson’s series of gigs in London. It features digital sound and was filmed in 3-D format.

Earlier it was said that the movie will include several videos that were created to be broadcasted during Michael Jackson’s concerts in London. One of these movies is an alternative version of Thriller presented in 3D format.
