The Strokes postponed the release of the new album

The Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas claimed that his band would work on its new album longer than it was expected. Yet-untitled record was originally set to hit the stores in September, but, according to Casablancas, it will not be released until 2011.

«I think January it'll be out. I was told not to predict anymore. But I'm pretty sure it should be out in January», said he.

Julian Casablancas also claimed that he had problems communicating with other The Strokes’ members. «We'll see if things are okay with the band when we're on tour. When we're not on tour, everyone's super nice and chilled and it's all great. It's just when you go on tour that things get weird», explained he.

Earlier Julian Casablancas revealed that new record would be different from The Strokes' previous albums. «I’ve written a lot of melodies for it, but the other guys have also contributed a lot more: melodies, choruses, parts. It’s way more collaborative. So it’ll have a different feel than our other albums», claimed Casablancas.

The Strokes’ previous album First Impressions Of Earth hit the stores in 2006.
