The Strokes’ frontman promised to record «weird» music

The Strokes’ singer Julian Casablancas, who is set to start working on a new album with his band soon after the New Year, claimed that he would like to record «more weird» music. Casablancas marked he did not know if he would do it with The Strokes or solo, but he definitely wants to explore something new.

«It's definitely a place I would like to go, musically. Not electronic… you can do weird with guitars too. My solo record Phrazes For The Young was kind of something I needed to get out of my system», said he.

The Strokes already confirmed that they would release new album in 2010. Bass guitarist Nikolai Fraiture claimed that all his bandmates felt excited to begin the work, as the band’s previous studio work First Impressions Of Earth hit the stores long ago in 2006.

However, Julian Casablancas said that he had doubts about these plans. «We're supposed to get back together in January but don't hold me to that. We've been trying to do it for years. I'm always available and they know that but getting together is tough», said he.
