The Strokes confirmed that they would release new album in 2010. The band, whose previous studio work First Impressions Of Earth hit the stores in 2006, is going to start recordings soon after the New Year. The band’s bass guitarist Nikolai Fraiture claimed that all his bandmates felt excited to begin the work.

But frontman Julian Casablancas said that he had doubts about these plans. «We're supposed to get back together in January but don't hold me to that. We've been trying to do it for years. I'm always available and they know that but getting together is tough», said he.

However, he said that most of the songs were already written. He also revealed that upcoming record was supposed to sound like «Thin Lizzy meets A-Ha».
