The Strokes are recording new album without singer

The Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas claimed that his band was recording new album without him. According to his words, it was his decision to record music and vocals separately because he did not want to interfere in his bandmates’ work.

«Nothing pushy to the point of it's my way or no way, but I'll hear a song and be like: «Hmmm, it feels like the bass should be like something different». Whereas if I feel like I wasn't in the room then they could just kind of spread their wings», explained Casablancas.

Earlier Julian Casablancas revealed that the band was going to release its fourth studio album in September. He also claimed that new record would be different from The Strokes' previous albums.

«I’ve written a lot of melodies for it, but the other guys have also contributed a lot more: melodies, choruses, parts. It’s way more collaborative. So it’ll have a different feel than our other albums», claimed Casablancas.

The Strokes’ previous album First Impressions Of Earth hit the stores in 2006.
