The Smashing Pumpkins named Oceania their best album in 16 years
Dec 12, 2011The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan claimed that he and his bandmates are absolutely satisfied with their upcoming album Oceania. Singer claimed that it is their best album in 16 years, since Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness that hit the stores in 1995.
"I mean, it's been a long time since I made a record where you play it for 50 people and 50 people say: "This is a great record". I haven't had that since Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness. That's 15, 16 years between that feeling of "OK, now you've got one here". That's a long time", claimed he.
Earlier Billy Corgan claimed that he would like to become an author of musicals for Broadway. At the same time, he admitted that his songs are not good enough for this, and that he would like to improve his skills.
"I want to be a better songwriter before I try Broadway and I wouldn't allow one of my old songs to be used. If I do Broadway, I'm not coming to write three-chord rock songs", claimed Billy Corgan.
