The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers claimed that the band is ready to begin the recording of its next studio effort. He also promised that the album will definitely hit the stores in 2012, but refused to name its exact release date.

"It's just whether it's released in the summer time or the winter time", said Flowers.

Singer also claimed that upcoming album will be very different from The Killers' previous efforts.

"We don't want to make another Hot Fuss or another Sam's Town, or another Day & Age. We'll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do", promised he.

Last month The Killers have unveiled new Christmas single titled The Cowboy's Christmas Ball. Its release coincided World AIDS Day that is celebrated on December 1. All money raised from the sales of the song will be donated to organizers of RED campaign who help to fight with AIDS in Africa.

The Killers also stated that The Cowboy's Christmas Ball marks the band's return after long hiatus.
