The Cure’s frontman flayed Radiohead's «idiot plan»

Feb 02, 2009
The Cure's frontman Robert Smith slammed Radiohead for releasing their album In Rainbows through the Internet, letting fans to pay for it as much as they want. Singer called this idea «idiot plan», saying that he «disagreed violently» with it.

«You can’t allow other people to put a price on what you do, otherwise you don’t consider what you do to have any value at all, and that’s nonsense. If I put a value on my music and no one’s prepared to pay that, then more fool me, but the idea that the value is created by the consumer is an idiot plan, it can’t work», said he.

The Cure’s last record 4:13 Dream was released in September 2008.
