The Beach Boys announced reunion

Former members of The Beach Boys announced plans for 2012 – the year when the band will celebrate its 50th anniversary. According to the official statement, they will mark it with the reunion tour and the release of the new album, as well as with reissue of their old records.

Frontman Brian Wilson claimed that The Beach Boys are set to meet in studio this winter.

"This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be on stage with them again", claimed he.

The Beach Boys formed in 1961 and quickly became famous with such records as Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Pet Sounds and others.
