Take That will perform Christmas Eve concert

Dec 12, 2010
Take That are set to perform a special Christmas Eve gig that will take place on December 31. However, the concert – which will take place in the Caribbean – will not feature Robbie Williams, who have rejoined the band earlier this year.

According to the official statement by Take That, the band will perform the show for free: "It's basically a chance to get away in the sun and perform a few songs at a party for friends. We are not being paid a penny".

Take That's recently released album Progress has showed the highest first week sales in Great Britain for the 21st century. Nearly 520,000 copies of the record were bought during seven days after its release – it is the best result since 1997's Be Here Now by Oasis.

Earlier Take That revealed details about their upcoming UK tour in support of the Progress – the first one since Robbie Williams left the band in 1995. It will start on May 30 in Sunderland and end with five gigs in London on July 1-5.
