Status Quo named «the most hardworking» band of year
Dec 12, 2009Status Quo topped the list of the most hardworking artists in Great Britain in 2009. The chart was created by The Performing Rights Society, an organization which tracks music sales and events. The list is based on the number of gigs performed by different artists through 2009, also taking into account the number of visitors at this shows.
According to the chart, Status Quo performed 29 concerts, which were visited by about 250,000 people. The band went ahead of Cliff Richard And The Shadows band, who became second, and Take That, who finished third. Top-5 also features Coldplay and Kings Of Leon.
Speaking about this achievement, Status Quo’s frontman Francis Rossi said: «Performing in front of thousands of fans is the ultimate experience for any band».
