Songs by Spice Girls to be remade into musical

Musical based on the songs by Spice Girls is set to be staged in Britain. Titled Viva Forever, it will be premiered next year in London. The plot is set be written by famous English comedy writer Jennifer Saunders and, according to producers, tell "contemporary story about celebrity and fame".

Jennifer Saunders said: "It is very exciting to be writing a musical that encompasses the music and energy of the biggest girl band of all time. My daughters grew up with Spice Girls - I had to write the book for them".

Spice Girls band was formed in 1994 and became successful with such albums as Spice, Spiceworld and Forever. The band split-up in 2001, later performing a reunion tour in 2007-2008.
