Scissor Sisters nearly finished new album

Scissor Sisters revealed that they have almost finished the work on their next studio effort and "can't wait" to release it. The band also revealed that next week they will unveil first single from upcoming record, titled Shady Love.

"We hope you are having a great Christmas and looking forward to a very exciting 2012 filled with new music, shows, and surprises. One such surprise is coming your way sooner than you thought! We spent 2011 making an album that we're really proud of and can't wait to share with you. Because you've been such good boys and girls, we'll be kicking off 2012 with a sneak peek of a brand new song to whet your appetite for what's to come", says the message by the band.

Last month Scissor Sisters announced that they would create a soundtrack for upcoming Fraggle Rock movie. The film is based on the live action puppet television series from 80's that was telling about adventures of humanoid creatures called fraggles.

Official announcement by Jim Henson Company – that is producing the movie – says: "We can make their music an integral part of the film. We can make it as important and as emotionally effective as the film-making itself".

Scissor Sisters released their last studio effort Night Work in 2010.
