Robbie Williams performed together with Take That

Nov 11, 2009
Robbie Williams has reunited with his former Take That bandmates at the recent Children In Need charity concert that took place last night in London. His return was announced earlier this month, but yesterday a spokesperson for BBC company announced that reports about Williams performing with Take That were «categorically not true».

However, Williams was introduced by the band’s members as «an old friend of ours» and played with Take That for the first time since his departure in 1996. Later Sir Paul McCartney joined them to perform Hey Jude all together.

The show also featured collaboration between Dizzee Rascal and Shirley Bassey, who performed Diamonds Are Forever. Other acts in the line-up were Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Lily Allen, Muse, Snow Patrol and others.

The show raised about £500,000 – this money will go to Children In Need, annual British charity appeal organized by the BBC.
