Ringo Starr refused to cut short one of his songs

Ringo Starr refused to sing his song Liverpool 8 from the eponymous album on the popular American TV show Regis and Kelly. All songs in this show must be cut to about 2 minutes 30 seconds, so Starr was asked to shorten his 4 minutes 15 seconds composition too. He agreed to cut about a minute of the song, but not more.

Starr also suggested to reduce his dialogue with presenters but the show's producers declined both of this solutions, so Starr just cancelled his performance (he planned to sing with Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart).
