Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer recorded solo album
Aug 08, 2009Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith revealed that he has finished his solo album named Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats: Meet The Meatbats. The record, which features ten instrumental tracks, is scheduled to be released in September.
Smith claimed that his music on this album was inspired by old rock bands: «My influences, through my brother, were so many of the groups that came out of England. Led Zeppelin's John Bonham, Cream, Deep Purple… those groups were the ones that I really loved».
Earlier this week Chad Smith announced that Red Hot Chili Peppers would end their so called «vacation» in October to start the work on the new album.
According to Chad Smith, the band is «hungry for music» now. «It'll be one and a half year in September, so now we're ready. You can't force people to play when they don't want to play or aren't ready to play or whatever – not in our band, anyway», said he.
