Razorlight were ready to change their name

May 05, 2011
Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell revealed that he has been ready to change the band's name after the departure of lead guitarist Andy Burrows. However, he has decided not to do it because he did not want to start its legacy from scratch.

"I thought about changing our name from Razorlight. But we had two records that were slam-dunks, before the third one missed the target. I couldn't stand the thought of that miss being Razorlight's legacy", claimed he.

English indie rockers revealed details about their next studio album earlier this month. According to Johnny Borrell, yet-untitled record will feature "good atmosphere".

The effort will become Razorlight's first album since 2009 when Andy Burrows left the band to work with his side project I Am Arrows. Upcoming record is set to be done by new line-up.

New album will become Razorlight's fourth studio effort. The previous one, named Slipway Fires, hit the stores in 2008.
