Ramones’ movie to be shot in US

Fox Searchlight studio announced plans to shot the movie about legendary American rock band Ramones. The film will be based on the forthcoming book I Slept With Joey Ramone, written by music journalist Legs McNeil and Mickey Leigh, brother of the band’s frontman Joey Ramone.

Fox Searchlight, which created such films as Napoleon Dynamite and Juno, is now in talks with the owners of Joey Ramone’s estate. If the negotiations will go well, the filming will start next year.

Ramones are often regarded as one of the first punk rock bands. They released about twenty albums, including Ramones Mania, which has become gold in USA.
