Radiohead raised $500,000 for one concert

Radiohead raised over $500,000 for the recent charity concert in Los Angeles. The gig was performed on Sunday, January 24, and all the money earned by the band will be donated to help people who suffered from Haiti earthquake.

Tickets for this special show were sold through the online auction – according to the band’s statement, it was their effort to «raise the maximum amount of money for the troubled country». The list of persons who bought tickets for the show includes Justin Timberlake, Daniel Craig, Charlize Theron and others.

Radiohead themselves are currently working on the new album, the follow-up to their 2007’s effort In Rainbows. The band also announced plans to record a cover on Wallflower by Peter Gabriel for his new album of covers.
