Feb 02, 2012
Radiohead, Elbow and a number of other artists donated items for the charity auction held by Music Beats Mines. This organization aims to raise money for people who suffered during wars all over the world. It also works to clear landmines, weapons and other remains of these conflicts.

The auction has started yesterday, on February 16. It features a number of standard items, such as Elbow's CD's signed by the band or the original artwork for Radiohead's 2000 album Kid A. At the same time, there are several unusual offers – for example, an hour on the grand piano at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.

Recently Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood announced new album. Recorded in collaboration with Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, it features classical compositions. The record is titled simply Jonny Greenwood/Krzysztof Penderecki, its release is set for the middle of March.

According to Jonny Greenwood, the album features four compositions – two by Penderecki and another two by himself. One of them is Popcorn Superhet Receiver, the track he has written for upcoming There Will Be Blood movie.
