Queen to release new album

Oct 10, 2011
Queen announced plans to release album of previously unknown songs by Freddie Mercury. It will be compiled of tracks recorded by the band through its entire career, but never actually released.

According to Queen guitarist Brian May, songs will be chosen to form "the complete thing".

"As well as seeing what we can unearth, we want to do a new musical to follow We Will Rock You. The songs are there, it's just a question of finding time to get the right production", added he.

Earlier there were reports that Lady GaGa may join Queen as the new singer. Several UK newspapers claimed that the band wants to tour with Bad Romance singer next year, citing a person close to guitarist Brian May as a source.

May himself earlier claimed that he does not rule out such opportunity. "We talk about going out on the road all the time but there's a bit of a singer problem, to put it mildly. We get a lot of offers to work with other people. I worked with Lady GaGa and she's very creative and is someone we've talked about singing, fronting the band with. She's not just a singer, she writes her own material", said he.
