Dec 12, 2008
Songs by Queen, The Police, Jimi Hendrix and many other musicians will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. This will happen at the opening ceremony of Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on December 6.

28 songs will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, including Synchronicity by The Police, Jimi Hendrix's version of The Star Spangled Banner and double single We Are The Champions/We Will Rock You by Queen.

Grammy Hall of Fame was created in 1973 to honor recordings that are at least twenty-five years old and that have «qualitative or historical significance». It features 826 compositions now. Each song is chosen by a special committee that consists both of music industry representatives and historians.
