Portishead will release new album in 2010
Sep 09, 2009Portishead’s Geoff Barrow revealed some more details about the band’s plans for the near future. According to his words, the band decided to release new album in 2010. Earlier Barrow revealed that he and his bandmates are working on new songs – however, he stated that new material may not be released in typical album format because Portishead had no contract with any record label.
«We're going to start writing and if all goes well it could be (out) in a year's time. That would be the most perfect thing to do», said he.
Barrow also ruled out any possibility of the band creating its own label. «It would be a complete nightmare. It would end in a nervous breakdown», claimed he.
Upcoming record will become Portishead’s fourth studio album. Dummy and Portishead were released before the band’s split up in 1999, while Third hit the stores after Portishead’s reunion in April 2008.
