Portishead leader to write comic-based album

Portishead's Geoff Barrow revealed plan to release an album based on comic series Judge Dredd by 2000 AD. According to musician, he feels very inspired by the dark futuristic setting of Judge Dredd's world.

Barrow added that the album – titled Drokk – will be recorded in collaboration with composer Ben Salisbury.

Official announcement of Drokk by 2000 AD says: "We are delighted that Judge Dredd continues to inspire artists in the year of the character's 35th anniversary, especially such high profile talents as Geoff and Ben".

Recently Geoff Barrow claimed that Portishead will release at least one more album. Musician added that he realized it after starting his side project Drokk And Beak – he understood that he cannot stop making music.

Upcoming record will become Portishead's fourth studio album. Dummy and Portishead were released before the band's split up in 1999, while Third hit the stores after Portishead's reunion in April 2008.
